Convert PNG to ICO for a favicon
Browsers and Windows still look for a favicon.ico. A single PNG is not always enough, because a tab icon, a bookmark, and a desktop shortcut want different sizes. This tool builds one .ico that contains 16, 32, 48, 64, 128, and 256 pixel versions.
Start with a square PNG at least 256 by 256 pixels, ideally 512. A wide logo gets center-cropped to a square. You can also drop a JPG or WebP.
How to make a favicon
- Add your logo.
- Leave the standard sizes checked.
- Click Convert and download the .ico file.
- Upload it as favicon.ico in the root of your website.
Need the logo in another format first? Use JPG to PNG or crop the image to a square.
