Compress a photo to an exact size
Many government, job, and exam websites refuse a photo over 100KB, 50KB, or even 20KB. Phone cameras save pictures several megabytes in size. This tool lowers JPEG quality, and the dimensions if needed, until the file fits the limit you pick.
How to compress an image to 100KB
- Add the photo. JPG, PNG, and WebP all work.
- Leave the target at 100KB, or choose 20, 50, 200, or type your own number.
- Click Convert and download the JPG.
Which size should you pick?
- 20KB — very small signature or thumbnail slots
- 50KB — strict exam and ID portals
- 100KB — the most common form limit
- 200KB — when the page allows a clearer photo
The result is a JPG, because that is what these forms accept. Transparent PNG areas become white. If you only need a format change, use PNG to WebP or JPG to PNG. To strip location data first, use Remove EXIF.

Yes, if the original is a large photo. 100KB usually stays clear. 20KB may look soft because the picture has to shrink.
